If you are lucky enough to be attending the VF Berks Jazz Festival in Reading, PA., you will have the opportunity to take a Master Class with the legendary Pat Martino. This is an amazing opportunity to “peek” inside the mind of a living Jazz Guitar legend, and having seen Pat on many occasions, it was one I would not miss if I lived in the “neighborhood” so to speak. “Martino’s ‘Berks Jazz Fest Studio’ will be open Wednesday, April 2, through Friday, April 4. There will be a limit of five students per day.”

For those who won’t be able to attend, there are at least a few instructional texts and DVD’s that Pat has put out explaining his thought process on the subject of improvisation. But nothing comes close to seeing the man up close and personal. If there is anyone attending, please feel free to leave a comment about how the Master Class went. I’d love to hear from ya on that topic.
