I received an email early this morning from Jazz Guitar Great Mimi Fox concerning a new DVD and concert series she will be embarking on and I thought I would help spread the word. As you may or may not know, I am a huge fan of Mimi’s guitar playing as well as a fan of her person/character. I had the pleasure of meeting her a few years ago when she played a duo gig at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. And believe me when I say, she kicked musical a**…:) She also gave a workshop the following day which was both educational and inspirational. Whether she’s playing in a group setting, as a duo, or as a solo artist, Mimi is one of those players who make it look so easy. It’s no wonder cats like Bruce Forman, Russell Malone, Kenny Burrell and others really dig her…and you should too…in my humble opinion…:)

Mimi Fox celebrates the release of her new Favored Nations/True Fire DVD,”Live At The Palladium” with a special performance at the Jazz Standard on Oct.5th, 2010.
One night only, 2 shows at 7:30 and 9:30p.m. For this concert Mimi will be joined by legendary bassist Harvie S and stellar drummer Akira Tana. Mimi will be
